Status Bar

Many times, messages are required, but are only informational in nature and do not warrant a message box that needs a user response (such as a delete confirmation). The status message area displays helpful information for the functions being performed on the screen. This status bar also displays a progress bar to inform you as to the status of time consuming calculations (like generating a schedule).

The status of the database connection is provided.  This is primarily to support databases that are not local on the machine and may become unavailable due to network connectivity.  If the database is not available, the database indicator will have a red 'X' through it and the software will cease operations.  The software will not close, but will allow you to re-establish the database connectivity

When this message appears, you can attempt to restore the connection to the database and the Click Yes to attempt to reconnect the software.  If you are using SQL Server, it is likely the database was stopped and needs to be restarted.  Clicking Yes will attempt to restore the database connection by the software.  If successful you should immediately attempt to save any unsaved data then shutdown the software and restart.  The application is not guaranteed to be completely stable and only minimal work should be accomplished before restarting.

The status bar also shows the status of the web publishing service (icon next to the database).  This double arrow icon with the orange ball in the middle is used throughout the software indicating web publishing features.  When the web publishing icon has an 'X' through it, this means that the software is not connected to the Analyzer Software Web Publishing server.  You will need to login via the Web Publishing screens.  While web publishing is inactive, web publishing  buttons with certain screens in the software will not be active.
