Programs is the name of a new concept in our software which represents a grouping of teams. Many minor league sports have clubs or programs which sponsor many teams that play against other teams from different clubs or programs. The teams within a club are usually differentiated by gender or age category. This concept could represent schools, which have a junior and/or senior, boys and/or girls team in each of a variety of sports or even Rugby Unions. By grouping teams together within a program, similar scheduling constraints and location playing preferences can be made for all teams.
In order to use the program concept, it must first be activated. Since this concept is not used frequently for many users, it can be turned on or off removing unnecessary screens and options in the software. To turn the Program concept on, go to the Season tab on the Preferences screen. Click the checkbox to "Use Program Concept" and enter the name of your Program concept (club, school, etc.). If you call your program concept "School" you will not see the term Program used in the software with the exception of the Seaons tab. All references in the software will use the term "School".
To add a program, you must be on the Teams & Details tab. Click "New" to start with a blank record. Enter the name of the Program and click "Save". Alternatively, if you already have a program displayed, you can change the name and click "SaveNew" to save a new record. SaveNew will not save any other data other than the Comment & Notes data.
Once a Program is saved, you can select the teams that belong to that Program by highlighting the available teams and adding them to the teams in the Program. You can also add a team to a program from the teams screen.
The primary contact can be selected from all program contacts entered for all programs. Initially the dropdown list will be blank. Please use the contacts tab to add a contact, then you can assign one as the primary contact.
