This screen does not allow divisions to be added to leagues, but allows the management of division related data. To add and remove divisions from leagues, use the Divisions tab on the Leagues screen.
Details Tab
The details tab provides additional information about the division. To display the details for a division, you must first select the League you wish to update. Then from the Divisions pulldown, select the division to update. Skill levels (option used for Officials scheduling), gender and age are elements used within our drafting function to automatically allocate players to teams. The game fee is a fee to be paid by each team in this division for each game played. There is a similar field on the Leagues screen and this value will override that value only for the teams assigned to this division. Similarly, there is an officiating fees grid that list the fees to be paid to each official type for each game officiated. These fees are defaulted from the maintenance tables on the Preferences screen. They can be overridden on the Leagues screen, Divisions screen and the Officials screen. The Reset fees to Default link will delete the fees at the division level and display those from the leagues or maintenance table level.
Division Team Setup Tab
With this screen you add teams to each of the divisions you set up for your league. Unlike pro sports leagues, many leagues like to rearrange teams at different times throughout the season. With this screen, you can at any time, remove a team from one division and move it to another. The system will maintain a record of all games played to date and carry those over to the new division. All schedules are carried over, but the more likely scenario is that you will want to generate a new schedule based on the new division. The scheduling system can be set up to generate schedules for only part of the year and new schedules can be added to the old ones as the season progresses.
Teams can appear in more than one League. The idea behind that is that Leagues can be set up as Tournaments and teams from multiple leagues can compete, while still maintaining their status within their regular league. All schedules and schedule printing will only print the schedule of a single league at a time. Schedules will not combine games for a single team from multiple leagues.
To add teams to a division, first select the league you wish to update. Highlight the team in the ‘Available Teams in League this Season’ box and click the right arrow pointing towards the division the team is to be added. To remove a team, do just the opposite with the left arrow. All changes made are immediately saved. This function will only display teams that are active for the current season (season always displayed in the title bar). See the Teams section for a description of how to move teams between seasons.
This screen will only show 10 divisions at a time. If your league has more than 10 divisions, then previous and next buttons allow navigation between groups of 10.
