  • My top file menu is being cut off at the top of the software, why is that?

Unfortunately with Windows, there are a number of different settings that affect the way the software displays. Screen resolution is one. The software is optimized to run at 1024x768 resolution. The software's forms have also been customized to take advantage of larger screen resolutions. With larger screen resolutions, may users decide to use 'Large Fonts'. Unfortunately, with some versions of windows, using large fonts, distorts the software. To change your font setting size, right click on your Desktop and click properties. Your display properies should appear. Click the appearance tab and there will be a font size pulldown. Select 'Normal' and with a restart of your computer, the software's menus will appear.
  • I have installed the software but when I start the League Analyzer program, it will not load or I receive an error. What is wrong?

There are many possibilities, so here are some likely answers. If you try all of these and still can not get the software to run, please send an email to support@analyzersoftware.com with the details of the software's behavior. This will help us try to duplicate and hopefully resolve your problem.
  1. After installing the software, you should restart windows. This software modifies registry entries that require windows to be restarted. The software has been tested on base versions of Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4 (sp6), 2000, XP and 2003. If you are using another operating system, our software may not support it.
  2. You must have installed Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. If you do not, you should download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer from the Microsoft site.
  3. This software is resource intensive. A minimum of 256mb of RAM is required. If you have this minimum amount or less, you may require a memory upgrade depending on what other programs you are running with our software. Shut down all other programs and try starting our software.
  4. Some computer setups do not properly install Microsoft's Data Access components properly. Try downloading MADC_TYP.EXE from the Microsoft web site by clicking on the link in this sentence. If that still does not solve the problem, download the MICROSOFT JET 4.0 components.
  5. There are known problems that have not been resolved with non-english versions of Windows operating systems. Change your regional settings to English, install the software, then switch them back.
  6. Send Analyzer Software the LAFHKmmm.log, LAFBKmmm.log, etc. file in the home directory where you installed the software. We will make every attempt to resolve your problem.
  • I click the Check for Updates function and get an Error 13001: What is the problem?

We are in the process of changing our update process. The version of the software you have installed is calling our older service which is not operational. When our next software version is available with our updated process, all registered users will be contacted via email.
  • League Analyer seems to run slow under Vista, how can I fix that?

This is due to a Setting Compatibility Issue. This is the issue, cause and fix.
ISSUE:League Analyzer starts OK. If a database is connected, it loads OK. When clicking any menu bar menu (e.g., File, Edit, etc.), the top-level (e.g., Edit) highlights OK but the drop-down does not immediately appear. Instead, there is 1) a pause of a second or two, 2) a "flash" (League Analyzer "repaints" the Window), and 3) a cursor shows the system is processing the request. Sometimes the Window Title bar will include the message "Not Responding." After some amount of time (60 seconds or more) the drop-down menu appears. If you select a function from the menu once it appear, that function seems to operate immediately. When you mouse down to a there is a scenario above basically repeats. Once the second level menu appear and you click on a function (e.g., View -> Leagues -> Contents), it executes immediately. Attempting to use the Menu bar hot-keys (e.g., Alt-E to open the Edit menu) results in the same scenario as above. Whenever attempting to use the Menu bar menus, the CPU runs at 40 to 60% When clicking on a Toolbar icon, the function executes immediately. When attempting to expand or contract a"side-bar" menu, it does so immediately. When clicking on a "side-bar" menu item, the function executes immediately.
CAUSE:After spending a considerable amount of time tracking down "leads," most based on blog reports of Vista and menus (such as making sure the Desktop Window Manager was running) this appears to be the cause. Some video cards (like NVIDIA) do not work well with non-high end graphics applications. The video card is not the cause, but the Colors setting if set to "High (32 bit)."
FIX:Changing this to "Medium (16 bit)" should fixed the problem.
